Alison Small, Academy Director


UK film industry expert Alison Small has been appointed as the inaugural director of the Skillset Craft and Technical Skills Academy.


Alison brings a wide range of skills and professional experience to this new role, including serving as the vice-chair of Women in Film and TV, and working as a freelance consultant and project manager to the international film and TV production communities. She also spent eight years working at the Office of the British Film Commissioner at UK Film Council, where she developed strategies to increase opportunities and finance for the UK.

Jackie manages all the work-based film qualifications, which involves overseeing the administration relating to candidates, assessors and awarding bodies. She is also responsible for the co-ordination of the Film Craft and Technical Trainee Placement scheme. Jackie is based primarily in Ealing Campus of Ealing Hammersmith & West London College, you can also spot Jackie carrying out her work at the office in Pinewood Studios when necessary.
